As a member of the Mark Reed Foundation Board of Directors I am working to insure that our community will have a standard of health care second to none.  My background is in public administration and fiscal management, with much  of my experience spent working as both staff and as a volunteer in the non-profit environment.

When my husband and I were ready to retire we looked for a community in the Pacific Northwest that would offer us small town living with big town advantages.  We found what we were looking for, Grays Harbor County has great people and is a wonderful place to live.

Five years ago, when searching for more property for our expanding horse population, my husband and I were thrilled to discover just what we were looking for in McCleary.  We raise and race thoroughbred horses at Portland Meadows and Emerald Downs and, among other positives, McCleary is ideally situated halfway between the two tracks.  My husband is a mail carrier and I have worked in the healthcare field for over 25 years, currently as the Manager of  the Medical Staff Office at Providence Centralia Hospital.  I have worked in hospitals in Tacoma, Edmonds and  Auburn, Washington, as well as San Diego, California.  I have a passion for healthcare because it gives you the opportunity to change lives on a daily basis.  Working on the Foundation Board at Mark Reed gives me a chance to meet my neighbors and contribute to my community.  I love the home town feel of East Grays Harbor County and the communities of McCleary, Elma, Satsop and Malone.  I am proud to serve on this Board and am eager to enhance the health of our hospital district and its citizens through our fundraising efforts.

Kazon Rotz

Several years ago I encountered severe heart problems.  Thankfully the end result gave me a second chance at life.  At that turning point I knew that it was my responsibility to give back!  Serving on the board for the Mark Reed Foundation is giving me that privilege.  I am new to the community of Grays Harbor specifically Elma where I manage the local branch of Anchor Bank.  I live in Thurston County with my husband and two children.  After my oldest graduates from High School we are planning to relocate to this great community.  I enjoy acrylic painting, listening to music and playing scrabble online against people throughout the world.

Fund Raising Co-ordinator

Michael Turner

Michael was raised by a nurse and a pediatric dentist, which may or may not explain how he became a winemaker and chef in Eastern Washington.  Michael’s interest in the foundation came about after being asked by Renee Dunham to help with a fundraiser that would support and spark interest for Mark Reed.  In addition to being the event coordinator for the foundation fundraiser, Michael also enjoys volunteering for board development activities that usually revolve around the theme of fine food, from local resources, at a very low cost.    Michael enjoys visiting the Grays Harbor area often, mainly for the wonderful weather and fresh seafood.

Paul Barrow

I moved to the area in 2004, and following a major accident in 2005 decided that I would like to put something back into the medical community of Grays Harbor.  The Foundation enables me to do that.  By profession, I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a CFO.  My hobbies, beside helping on websites, include working on and driving my collection of vintage British MG cars.

I live with my wife and two dogs in Montesano, WA.

Vee Jackson

I have been privileged to gain knowledge in both the insurance industry as well as the clinic setting. Working in a rural setting is a goal I have had for a number of years and I am excited to be a part of Mark Reed and the positive vision for the future
